Zone
To correspond with kitchen workflows, a kitchen should be planned with five storages zones: Consumables, Non-consumables, Cleaning, Preparation and Cooking. For right-handed users the zones are arranged clockwise and anticlockwise for left handed users.

Zone change
A zone change takes place every time the kitchen users moves from one zone to another zone. Zone changes are more frequent between the "Preparation" and "Cleaning" zones. This is mainly due to emptying the dishwasher and putting away the dishes.
